Audition Information for Young Performers

We’re excited to welcome young actors to audition for our upcoming production of The Lightning Thief. Please read the details below carefully to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Audition Date

Tuesday 12th May

Group 1 – Ages 11–13          4:30pm – 5:15pm

• Dance combination
• Group singing: Bring on the Monsters
• Text work

Group 2 – Ages 14+              5:15pm – 6:00pm

• Dance combination
• Group singing: Bring on the Monsters
• Text work

Please note:
All auditionees aged 14+ must attend the group audition, including those wishing to be considered for principal roles.

Principal Role Soloists – Ages 14+  6:00pm – 6:45pm
(This session is in addition to, not instead of, the group audition.)

Preparation (All Auditionees)

All auditionees must prepare the song Bring on the Monsters, which will be sung in small groups during the group audition sessions.

Auditionees for principal roles must also take part in the group audition, including dance, group singing, and text work.

Principal Roles – Solo Preparation (Ages 14+)

Anyone wishing to be considered for a principal role should prepare one of the following songs.
All soloists should sing in a rock/pop vocal style.

Additional Notes

• There are many other solo singing roles, which will be cast from all audition groups.
• Please choose the song and character that best suits your vocal range, even if it isn’t your favourite song.
• Some songs include short sections of dialogue. Another actor will read or sing the other part for you.
• We strongly encourage auditionees to perform in character — we’re looking for storytelling and personality, not just vocal ability.
