From Mercutio to Oberon, Lysander and beyond, these bears spend time each week visiting the homes of our Playbox members aged 4–7, where they become part of magical, imaginative adventures. During their stay, children are encouraged to read stories, create their own plays, and explore storytelling through creative play and real-world interaction. Families then share photos and highlights from their bear’s visit, celebrating the joy, creativity and imagination sparked along the way.
This is just the beginning for our Shakespeare Bears, with exciting developments on the horizon – but for now, we’re delighted to follow the wonderful adventures already unfolding in homes across Playbox.
Oberon has had a truly magical week with Rosie, and she has absolutely loved having him to stay!
One of the highlights of his visit was a very special trip to the castle, where Oberon enjoyed watching the exciting Zogshows. It was a royally entertaining day and perfectly suited to a bear named after a king of the fairies!
At the weekend, Oberon joined Rosie for a delicious pancake feast—one of his favourite treats. He also spent a day at school, proudly sitting on Rosie’s teacher’s desk and keeping a close eye on all the learning.

Orlando has had a wonderfully busy and active week with Isla!
Orlando joined Isla at her swimming lesson, although he decided the safest place was poolside, where he could cheer her on without getting his fur wet. Orlando also loved scooting around with Isla, riding in style in the perfectly Orlando-sized basket on the front of her scooter.
At home, Orlando quickly settled into life with Isla’s 13 baby dolls! With such a large family of dolls to get to know, there was always plenty going on, and Orlando got on famously with all of Isla’s little ones.
Orlando also proved to be a very helpful bear when he assisted Isla in packing for her Beavers Camp. He carefully helped stick on name labels and made sure she had everything she needed for her big adventure.
Although Isla was worried Orlando might get lost among the 4,000 people attending camp, so he stayed safely at home, eagerly listening to all her exciting stories of campfires, inflatable fun, arts and crafts, and drum circles.
What a fantastic week it has been—Orlando has loved every moment of his adventures with Isla!
