Ever wondered how documentaries are made? How to use a camera to tell a powerful real-life story or to observe the wonders of nature?
In this 12-week course, led by guest director Iro Christopoulou, young filmmakers will explore the creative and practical techniques behind documentary filmmaking. They will develop their ideas into visual stories, they will learn how to conduct interviews, and how filming, sound recording and editing work. Through a mix of role playing activities and creative challenges, participants will cultivate their own unique filmmaking style and artistic personality. Following the completion of the course, each young filmmaker will have created their own short documentary and Playbox will arrange a screening event in the New Year to showcase their work. No previous filmmaking experience is required – just curiosity, creativity and a willingness to tell real stories.
