At Playbox Theatre, we are lucky to be supported by a committed team of Playbox Parents and supporters, who work hard to raise critical funds for Playbox’s work

The Friends Of Playbox is a registered charity, created specifically to raise awareness of, and funds for, Playbox Theatre’s creative activities.

They seek to enable young people – especially those that may not have regular access to the theatre and arts opportunities – to participate in, explore, enjoy, and benefit from the company’s work.

Equally importantly, The Friends creates regular social opportunities and special events for members, parents, friends and supporters to come together in fun and creative ways, whilst raising much needed funds for Playbox Theatre.

Our JustGiving page has been a lifeline over the past 18 months, since the coronavirus pandemic forced the closure of Playbox Theatre’s usual activities. With the generous support of current members’ families, alumni, friends from near and afar, this campaign was critical to the survival of Playbox. Whilst the future is looking much brighter, our JustGiving campaign remains open, as we strive to reach our target.

Get Involved!

All parents of Playbox members are automatically part of ‘The Friends’ – that doesn’t mean you have to be on the committee, although new faces are always welcome!

The team are always ready to welcome a new pair of hands, so if you can spare a few hours, please get in touch. We will add you to our mailing list and you can volunteer to help out with specific events and fundraising initiatives on an ad-hoc basis.
