Fight Lab Junior

An action-packed performance project introducing young performers to the exciting world of stage combat.

Participants will safely learn the fundamentals of stage fighting, build teamwork and performance skills, and create dynamic choreographed scenes for the stage, led by industry professional and Playbox alumnus, Liam Bessell.

Date: Monday 3rd – Tuesday 4th August 10.00am–4.00pm

Twilight Worlds

A physical theatre and ensemble project inspired by our enduring fascination with vampires, forbidden love, and shadowy worlds.

Drawing on influences from Dracula, The Vampire Diaries, Twilight, and other gothic tales, participants will explore the myths, mysteries, and legends that have captivated audiences for generations.

Through movement, atmosphere, and collaborative storytelling, participants will create haunting theatrical moments while developing ensemble performance and physical theatre skills in a creative and immersive workshop.

High Jinks: Under The Sea

Join us for Under The Sea, a fun-filled half-day experience for curious young explorers.

Through storytelling, games, songs, and crafts, children will dive beneath the waves to discover colourful sea creatures, hidden treasures, and magical underwater worlds, bringing ocean adventures to life through imaginative play. It’s a playful, creative experience designed to spark imagination and build confidence in our youngest performers.

High Jinks: Bears, Beasts & Best Friends

Join us for Bears, Beasts & Best Friends, a fun-filled half-day experience for animal-loving young adventurers.

Through storytelling, games, songs, and crafts, children will meet friendly beasts, cuddly bears, and brave animal companions as they bring heartwarming adventures to life through imaginative play. It’s a playful, creative experience designed to spark imagination and build confidence in our youngest performers.

Fight Lab Senior

An intensive stage combat project for older performers, exploring advanced techniques in theatrical fighting and screen-style action.

Participants will develop safe stage combat skills, precision choreography, and strong ensemble work while creating dynamic action sequences that bring drama and storytelling to life. This workshop will be led by industry professional and Playbox alumnus, Liam Bessell.

Date: Thursday 6th – Friday 7th August 10.00am–4.00pm

Age: 12-18 years

Staging The Impossible

A two-day theatre-making project exploring how to bring the seemingly impossible to life on stage, inspired by stories such as Skellig, A Monster Calls, and other mythic, magical worlds.

Participants will experiment with movement, storytelling, and creative staging techniques to create imaginative theatrical moments and discover how fantasy and reality can powerfully collide in performance. This project will be led by Playbox alumnus Sammie Horton.

High School Musical!

“Summer…summer…summer…summer…!”

This project celebrates music, performance, and self-expression. We will learn iconic songs from High School Musical, develop choreography and acting skills, building confidence as we work towards a summer-themed performance to share with family members at the end of the week.
