Shakespeare Young Company is now in its 20th year and remains one of our most popular specialist programmes. The company is divided into two groups:
This unique company explores the world of Shakespeare and his contemporaries, using performance-led and exciting rehearsal room techniques. Work is staged in evocative, unusual locations – from shortened scripts to immersive experiences, such as the atmospheric medieval crypt at St Mary’s Church.
This summer, Pucks will stage a 30-minute version of Romeo and Juliet.
SYC & Pucks Audition InformationThe Playbox Professionals Training Programme, known as ‘Professionals’ is one of Playbox Theatre’s core advanced-level ensembles, specially designed for members with ambitions to pursue careers in the arts, media, or communication.
This exciting, high-level course explores:
We aim to equip members for drama school and university entry, through audition preparation, scene work, and deep exploration of contemporary and European theatre techniques.
Sessions take place at The Dream Factory, Warwick, on Saturdays, 9:00–11:00am, and are limited to a small, focused group of committed members.
Experience the Ensemble in Action Come and watch Playbox Professionals perform in Director’s Cut this June at The Studio—where members present their end-of-year directing projects. This is a fantastic way to see the ensemble at work.

Join us for this powerful and beloved story which follows young William Beech, evacuated from London during WWII, who finds an unexpected bond with the reclusive Mr Tom in the countryside. It’s a heart-warming and deeply moving tale of friendship, healing, and resilience.
Director: Emily Quash
This timeless tragedy follows the fiercely determined Electra as she navigates grief, betrayal, and the burning desire for justice after the murder of her father, King Agamemnon. Bound by duty and driven by vengeance, she awaits the return of her brother Orestes to reclaim their family’s honour. A powerful and emotionally charged story of loyalty, legacy, and the devastating weight of revenge. Directed by Emily Quash, this version will delve into Sophocles’ ancient tale of vengeance, grief, and justice through a modern lens.
