Playbox Theatre, world-class theatre for young people, invite you all to visit our brand new website, developed for us by www.auburn.co.uk .
The new site is the result of a six month collaboration with local design company, Auburn Creative and has enabled Playbox to rebrand its marketing, in a way that reflects the colour and energy of the company.
Here you will find everything you need to know about the Warwick-based company, from how to join, to what’s on at The Dream Factory, the history of Playbox, alumni news, and all upcoming events, plus enjoy films and pictures from past work.
The website now takes centre stage as our main communication tool, enabling us to reduce our paper marketing, whilst ensuring that everyone can remain abreast of all the excitement available to young people of all ages.

As we emerge from the challenges of Covid-19, this wonderful marketing tool is a beautiful reflection of Playbox’s renewed spirit, resilience, energy and passion. It’s a site that has been created with such thoughtfulness, alongside our partners at Auburn Creative, who have worked tirelessly to create a place that sensitively reflects our ethos. Additionally, as a company, we are committed to becoming greener in every way that we can, and minimising the paper marketing we use is an important part of this process. The website will replace much of our print, enabling us to streamline and communicate efficiently and effectively. We can’t stop looking at it and feedback has been wonderful!”
A PEEK AT 2022
After building back from the pandemic, with a range of productions for all ages, the 2022 season is announced.
STARRY NIGHTS – our annual, gala celebration of Playbox Theatre returns to the stage in February. It sees 150 actors from across all parts of Playbox on stage at The Dream Factory, in a glorious performance that dips into the company’s 35 year history.
THE SECRET GARDEN – a musical adaptation by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon. This family musical opens spring 2022.
MARINER – a new Playbox commission which sees writer and Literary Associate, Toby Quash, create a new text for the company, inspired by ST Coleridge Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner. This piece will be created in collaboration with Blank-Shift Writers’ Workshop – the resident writing ensemble at The Dream Factory. Opens summer 2022.
ORESTEIA – looking ahead to the autumn, a spectacular new work, inspired by the Aeschylus work. Playbox will stage a trilogy telling the Story Of The House Of Atreus. Opens autumn 2022.
