MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Part Time

Average 10 hours per week – flexible hours

We seek someone who is interested in helping maintain The Dream Factory, our unique complex in Warwick for theatre with young people. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy varied maintenance jobs and inspections within our building and co-operate with other departments to accomplish the outcome ensuring The Dream Factory fulfils its excellent record of maintenance.

The Maintenance Technician will be hard working, well-motivated and have a keen eye for trouble shooting maintenance issues to rectify in advance of serious issues.

The role involves:

1. Supervising, understanding, controlling, and adjusting the building’s heating and lighting systems with seasonal changes, maintenance reports, liaison with outside agencies.
2. To supervise and liaise with outside agencies responsible for fire alarm system, security system, lift, and essential building equipment.
3. To oversee, advise and ensure a health and safety regime to cover the entire building incorporating regular procedural actions e.g., fire alarm testing and updating annually all building risk assessments.
4. To ensure that each studio is prepared for daily usage.
5. To undertake minor repairs, building painting requirements and installation of seating structures in main auditorium.
6. To work with the Technical Director on regular building checks and trouble shooting.
7. Weekly check of sensory and Play-Square equipment to ensure safety for guests.
8. Ongoing checks of seating, tables, and items in front-of-house to ensure fit for customers.
9. To develop a full, thorough working knowledge of heating, alarms, water, fire, and security operations and liaise with outside agencies when required for swift and efficient attention.

• To check the appearance of outside grounds and litter-pick where necessary.
• To inspect weekly all outdoor play equipment and furniture.
• To assist the Technical Director with set construction and assembly as and when required.
• To liaise with gardening contractors as and when required.

• A capable and unflustered personality, able to respond with vigour to the unusual needs of the company.
• Team spirit
• Experience in co-ordinating with other staff and agencies to ensure highest standards.
• Excellent work ethic & self-motivation.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Salary £12.50 per hour paid monthly.
