Playbox Theatre is now inviting applications to audition for its renowned Shakespeare Young Company (SYC).
Shakespeare Young Company is a unique specialist programme for young people who are passionate about developing their confidence, skills and techniques through the performance and exploration of the works of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.
Led by the creators of Playbox Theatre, Mary King and Stewart McGill, SYC offers an exciting opportunity to delve deeply into classical text and innovative performance-making. The ensemble trains across a range of vocal and physical techniques, exploring different approaches to rehearsal and performance, including theatre, outdoor venues, touring and promenade styles.
Shakespeare Young Company is split into two ensembles. Pucks is the introductory programme, with SYC progressing training further. The company directors will decide which workshop it most suitable for new members.
