CAFÉ WHIRL is a favourite spot for people of all ages to meet, eat, chat and relax at Playbox Theatre. The comfortable and cheerful lounge is bright and welcoming, with lots of activities for younger visitors, quiet seating booths, refectory tables for bigger gatherings, and extensive outdoor space with imaginative role-play environments for children.

There are menu options to suit all tastes and needs, with plenty of veggie, vegan and gluten/nut free choices.

Open all year round, CAFÉ WHIRL is a special family destination in Warwick, where everyone is welcome – members, families, friends, audiences, locals and visitors to Warwick.

Our pioneering Preschool programmes were first developed by Playbox Theatre’s Founding Director, Mary King, in 1987! They are perfect theatre adventures for younger children and explore a wealth of inspiring techniques that develop confidence, self-esteem and ability.

Parents of Playbox members, and indeed, the whole family, are an important part of life within our company. Whilst it is your child who is regularly working with us, our parents often become a vital part of the experience, especially when young people become involved in productions. There are plenty of opportunities for parents to join our backstage welfare team, to support in the wardrobe department, to become a part of our wonderful ‘Friends Of Playbox’ charity wing, and much more.
