‘Hamlet’ was our first production in the main auditorium following the pandemic and was staged in-the-round, offering the audience an immediate and personal experience. Sophia Rowlatt took on the title role as Hamlet, Prince Of Denmark, haunted by the ghost of his dead father, and deeply disturbed by the hasty marriage of his mother, to his Uncle Claudius. Throughout the ensuing action, Hamlet descends into a troubled mental state, taking many victims with him, as he seeks revenge for his father’s supposed murder.
Maybe it’s the fact that this young cast has been cooped up, locked down and shut out for so many months that gives this compelling production a very unique spirit and energy that will hopefully outlive any bloomin’ virus
