Actor and physical theatre trainer, Ed Butler, will be leading a day-long class, exploring body and imagination, pushing the limits of what you can create. He’ll be guiding you through a series of movement exercises, challenging the group to discover how each part of the body can be used to create unique, personal and emotional performance.
The techniques you cover will be beneficial to future character work, or to creating your own physical theatre pieces. No prior experience is necessary, only a willingness to work hard and to be comfortable with physical approaches.

Ed is a trained dancer and actor. He specialised in Ballroom and Latin for over 12 years and won the British Championship in both styles. Ed has choreographed for Playbox productions for several years, and has led hugely successful workshops exploring dance and physical theatre approaches across all ages. As an actor, Ed has led many Playbox productions in both UK and USA, he trained at Birmingham Orniston Academy and is set to begin performing at Warwick Castle this summer.
Ed is looking forward to bringing his experience to this event, and to challenge both himself, and the participants, to find their own, unique, style of physical performance. This will be a really personal and individual approach.
