Throughout the year, Playbox runs a range of exciting, energetic and diverse holiday events for young people of all ages.

Holiday workshops take place at The Dream Factory in Warwick, ranging from half-day, to weeklong specialist projects. These are open to both members, and non-members, of Playbox Theatre.

Our holiday workshops are a perfect way for young people to be creatively engaged during the school holidays, and to develop skills across a range of performing arts.

Get involved

Led by highly experienced Playbox Directors, with regular guest directors from the theatre and film industries.

The programme of classes available varies throughout the year, and information on this page is continuously updated.

Holiday workshops are themed, and appropriately age-banded. Schedules regularly include Musical Theatre; Shakespeare; Stage Combat; Film-Making; Acting; Dance; Drama School Preparation; Technical; Design; Pre-School Events.

Into The Shadows – An Adventure Into Darker Fairytales

Thursday 30th October 10.00-16.00

Inspired by the Brothers Grimm and timeless gothic tales, this daylong workshop dives into the darker side of storytelling.

Young performers will create bold characters, explore atmospheric staging, and weave mysterious narratives in a thrilling, theatrical journey that’s rich in drama, imagination, and spine-tingling surprises. From the chilling mystery of Bluebeard to the haunting enchantment of Jorinde and Joringel, and Rapunzel’s tower of secrets, young actors will explore unusual characters, shadowy storytelling, and haunted theatre in this atmospheric workshop.

Age: 8-11 years

High Jinks: Pumpkin Patch Halloween Party

Friday 31st October 10.30-13.30

Step into a magical pumpkin patch where stories, songs, and games bring Halloween to life!

With colourful characters, costumes, and a sprinkle of theatre magic, little ones will enjoy a playful celebration full of imagination, role play and storytelling in this special Halloween adventure. Children are welcome to come in fancy dress, to join in the festivities. The session will conclude with a yummy picnic for everyone to enjoy.

Witches, Wizards, Wands & Warlocks

Friday 31st October 10.00-16.00

A spellbinding day of theatre where young actors step into a world of magic and adventure.

Inspired by the endlessly popular ‘Harry Potter’ stories, participants will explore the characters and events that make these tales so rich. It’s going to be an action-packed day of theatre-making, which will really delve into life in Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft & Wizardry. It’s perfect for fans of the books, as well as those who haven’t yet discovered this extraordinary world.

All holiday clubs are hosted in beautiful studios at The Dream Factory, with plenty of outdoor space for participants to get fresh air during breaks. Lunch, or evening refreshments, are included in fees, prepared by Café Whirl.
