Mysteries

One of Playbox Theatre’s most ground breaking productions is restaged in 2023 for new audiences.

Based on The Medieval Mystery Plays performed in Chester, Coventry, York and Wakefield in the Middle Ages, this epic, multidisciplinary event takes its audience from Creation to Doomsday in a three-part production brought to the stage by some of Playbox’s finest actors.

This production was first staged by Playbox in 2011, with subsequent revisitings in 2013 and 2015. The Mysteries has been seen at Cathedrals in Gloucester, Coventry, at St Mary’s Collegiate Church in Warwick and at The RSC’s Swan Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon.

This year’s re-exploration marks its return to the original creative base at The Dream Factory.
