Shakespeare Young Company has, for the past 6 years brought a new focus for young people excited about developing their confidence, skills and techniques training and performing in the work of Shakespeare and his contemporaries. In 2014 we extend the company to meet new members wanting to be part of a unique ensemble.

We invite applications to audition for one of our centres and programmes.

2014 explores:

- Movement

- Directing

- Shakespeare’s theatre

- Masterclasses with guest actors and directors

- Project development

- Major Shakespeare plays in production

- Sonnets and poems

- The clown in Shakespeare’s theatre

Plus tours to indoor/outdoor performance spaces with projects and visits to major Shakespeare productions.

SYC is divided into a series of ensembles: Pucks (for under 13s), The Rose Company and The Fortune Company are based in Warwick with the Red company based in Oxfordshire.

Admission to SYC is by audition and interview.
