This core programme offers members of all ages the opportunity to develop their skills and confidence in a variety of different theatrical disciplines – to examine movement, mime, voice and improvisation, to experiment with different genres and styles of work as well as to explore a broad range of exercises designed to establish and encourage strong performance technique, theatrical awareness and creative freedom.
Groups cover a great deal of material during the course of a season – guest directors, script work, special projects and presentations all part of a varied and carefully-tailored programme designed to bring out the best in all involved. In fact, not only have the workshops provided many of our members with the experience and confidence necessary to lead our many shows, nourish and develop their talents through live performance and enjoy successful careers in the industry, but the training that comes as part of our core programme goes way beyond just this…
The workshops are there to provide a real and positive grounding in the disciplines and techniques of theatre, but, for so many, they offer so much more – a welcoming and creative social environment, strong friendships, and self-confidence – the chance to be involved in a company where the imagination and ideas of every one of our members is the very heart of what we do.
