PLAYBOX
THEATRE MAJOR NEW PROJECT FOR 2008-2010
On
Wednesday 16th April 2008 following our
premiere of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s
Dream we launched a major new training
and performance project for young people, Young
Shakespeare Company.
The
aim is to develop the skills, talent, confidence and
understanding of young people in the plays of
Shakespeare as a living, breathing playwright as vital
today as in his own time.
With
our recent staging of A Midsummer Night’s Dream
we have re-discovered the fresh ideas, exciting
thinking and tremendous energy young people can bring
to the plays and our plan is to build a company
skilled in technique and performance to perform
Shakespeare and possibly one or two of his
contemporaries.
The
course will be as follows:
| PUCKS |
(Under
11s) |
Friday |
4.30-5.30pm |
| YSC |
(Over

will include:

The company and training programme
will be created by audition and we will be holding the
first audition session in June to view perspective Autumn

The
YSC will stage two full productions in 2009 at The
Dream Factory and tour work to unusual venues, The
Taming of The Shrew and The Comedy of Errors.
Perhaps
you will pass this information to anyone who you feel
may share your interest in developing skills in
Shakespeare performance.
